Frequently asked questions
On this page, we have gathered the most frequently asked questions for EuroPark and answers to these.
Parking tickets
The report from the parking attendant documents, that the parking ticket was not placed visibly and readably for control, when the parking attendant observed the car. The parking attendant was therefore not able to read and check the ticket’s time of purchase, expiration, and which parking lot the ticket was valid for. It is not possible to cancel the parking fee, even if you can show a copy of the parking ticket, which appears to be covering the parking. This is so, because you have not complied with the rules, as the parking ticket was not placed easily readable and visible in the windscreen at the time of observation.
You do not comply with the rule, that the parking ticket should be placed visibly and easily readable in the windscreen of the vehicle. The parking attendant was not able to read the information on the parking ticket. It is not possible to cancel the parking fee, even if you can show a copy of the parking ticket, which appears to be covering the parking. This is so, because you have not complied with the rules, as the parking ticket was not placed easily readable and visibly in the windscreen at the time of observation.
There is often another machine on the parking lot which you can use instead. If this is not the case, you cannot park on the parking lot, as you do not comply with the rule that a parking ticket should be placed easily readable in the windscreen of the vehicle. If the machine is not working, you can report it by calling the number which is written on the machine.
Note: On some parking lots it is possible to pay for parking using an app (See “Can I use apps such as APCOA FLOW and EasyPark to pay for parking?”). You can only pay using apps if it is written on signs on the parking lot. You can for example use the app APCOA FLOW to pay for your parking.
Yes, on parking lots where it is possible to pay for parking and which are monitored by EuroPark Parkeringskontrol it is written on the signs whether it is possible to pay with you phone through the apps APCOA FLOW or EasyPark.
Please note, that you have to use the Danish version of the APCOA FLOW app.
Please note that when you pay via APCOA FLOW or EasyPark, you have to type in your registration number (license plate) and area code. We recommend that you always check whether the area code is the same as is written on the signs on the parking lot. It is the area code displayed on the signs that should be used when you write which parking lot you are parked on.
If you pay with a debit card (e.g. Mastercard, Maestro etc. (not Dankort)) in a payment machine or in the app APCOA FLOW, an amount can be reserved at your bank. The amount is reserved for APCOA PARKING Danmark A/S, as we do not know the length of you parking and therefore not the amount you have to pay when you for example put your card in the payment machine the first time. Therefore, we approve your transaction with a reservation.
When your parking and hence your purchase is finished, we only withdraw the amount that the parking costs and the reserved amount is afterwards deleted. Unfortunately, this procedure can take a couple of days. This is not due to APCOA PARKING, but the payment operator. If the reserved amount is not deleted, you should contact your bank (card issuer).
No, according to guidelines as EuroPark Parkeringskontrol, cars with open roof, cabriolet, is not excused from neither parking rules, nor parking fees. In order to park, you have to place a visible and easily readable parking ticket/permit in the windscreen of the vehicle according to the rules on the parking lot. These rules are displayed on signage on the parking lot.
On most of our parking lots, it is also possible to pay for your parking in the app APCOA FLOW. This way, you avoid having to put a parking ticket in the windscreen. Please notice that it is only possible to pay with parking apps on the parking lots where this is displayed on the signs.
Parking fees
EuroPark Parkeringskontrol is a private parking company and is therefore not subject to the same rules as companies within the public sector.
If you park in a private car park, it is the owner of the site who determines which rules should apply to parking in the car park.
EuroPark Parkeringskontrol operates under rules and regulations that are governed by private law. Some of the most common rules for parking are:
- Parking is time-limited and regulated by the use of parking discs, which means that a parking disc must specify the arrival time and must be readable when a parking attendant is carrying out inspections.
- Parking which has to be paid for requires that a ticket is purchased from a ticket machine in the car park, or via APCOA FLOW/EasyPark, and that the vehicle registration number (license plate) and area code must be entered when registering.
- Parking is subject to a valid parking pass or a guest card, issued by EuroPark Parkeringskontrol or APCOA PARKING, being placed in the vehicle windscreen.
- The vehicle registration number (license plate) of the parked vehicle must be digitally registered in order to obtain a valid parking permit.
- The vehicle must be parked within a marked bay.
- The vehicle can only be parked with a valid disabled parking permit.*
- Parking bans.
Signs which provide information on the regulations of the site regarding parking will be produced and erected in collaboration with the owner of the car park.
Which authority is responsible for issuing penalty charges depends on purely contractual factors. When a driver enters a private car park where signs indicate the rules and conditions for parking, the driver is considered to have accepted these rules and conditions for parking in such a way that an agreement between the driver and APCOA PARKING Danmark A/S, which manages the car park, has been entered into.
EuroPark Parkeringskontrol conducts these inspections. The signs provide information including that, when parking a vehicle, you accept that a penalty charge may be imposed where parking is in violation of the posted rules. The contractual basis for this is found in Section 1 of the Danish Contracts Act. The provisions of the Road Traffic Act relating to parking do not apply where a vehicle is parked in a private car park, which is established case law.
* Please note that if no specific rules are shown on disabled signs, the other signposted rules of the car park must be followed, i.e. a vehicle may be parked using a valid disabled parking permit and in return for payment, or using a valid parking permit, etc.
The report from the parking attendant shows that you have violated the parking rules as written on signs on the parking lot in question. The parking fee was written as the parking disc was not set correctly or the parking time exceeded the time that the parking disc validated parking for at the time of the observation no matter for how long you parked on the parking lot.
The parking attendant has made a start- and stop-observation and written the fee.
It is recommended that inquiries about an imposed parking fee are always made in writing. Inquiries are to be received on this website under the inquiry tab or by post at:
EuroPark Parkeringskontrol
Hjulmagervej 4B

About inquiries in general
If all the required information is provided in the inquiry, the case will be put on hold.
Once a case has been put on hold, payment reminders will not be sent. You must wait for a written response from EuroPark Parkeringskontrol Customer Service, which will respond to your inquiry. If EuroPark Parkeringskontrol Customer Service upholds the demand, the case will be re-activated and sent for judicial recovery if the penalty charge is not paid.
If repeated inquiries are made without any important new information being provided, a response cannot be expected.
If no objections are raised about the demand for payment of the penalty charge, EuroPark Parkeringskontrol’s standard reminder procedure will be followed, and letters will be sent causing additional fees for late payment to be incurred.
If all of the necessary information is provided in the inquiry, then the case will be put on hold.

Signage informing about e.g. rules for parking and that violations of these can result in a parking fee is set up on the parking lots where EuroPark Parkeringskontrol carries out control. Observation and control of the parking lot is decided by a contractual commitment between EuroPark Parkeringskontrol and the owner of the parking lot in question.
On most of the parking lots controlled by EuroPark Parkeringskontrol, there is not only signage at the entrance of the parking lot, but typically also other places around the parking lot. However, it should be noted that signage at the entrance is sufficient.
Vehicles must be parked within a marked bay. This means that vehicles must be parked within the bay markings. A parking fee will be incurred if a vehicle is not parked within a marked bay. If it is not possible to park within the markings of the selected bay, for example if the vehicle in the adjacent bay has parked crookedly, we advise that another bay is parked in so that the vehicle can be legally parked within a marked bay.
If a vehicle is parked where there is a complete absence of a bay/markings, this is also considered as parking outside of a marked bay if there is a sign stating that vehicles must be parked within marked bays.
When you leave the vehicle, this is taken as a parking. The parking attendant however has an observation time, which gives you time and opportunity to follow the rules for parking, which are written on the signs at the parking lot. The observation time is determined on the basis of the physical lay-out of the parking lot.
If the parking fee is not paid within the time limit, a payment reminder will initially be sent stating that if payment is still not made within the new time limit, reminder charges will be charged.
After this, payment reminder 1 will be sent, which will result in a reminder charge. After this, reminder 2 will be sent, which will also result in a reminder charge, and finally reminder 3 will be sent, which will result in a reminder charge and notification that the matter will be sent for recovery action if a payment is not made (notification of recovery action). If payment has still not been made after reminder 3, the matter will be transferred to judicial recovery.
After transfer to judicial recovery, all contact must be made with the relevant debt collection agency and not with EuroPark Parkeringskontrol.
When replying to a written inquiry, a payment reminder will not be sent. If the amount due is not paid within the time limit, we are required to forward the matter to judicial recovery. This means imposing reminder charges and additional costs associated with the case in accordance with applicable law.
A written answer is given on all written inquiries. However, if neither the fee number nor the registration number (license plate) is supplied in the inquiry, we are not able to find your case and therefore we cannot send an answer.
You have to resend your inquiry and make sure to provide the fee number, the vehicle’s registration number (license plate), your name, e-mail address, and address.
No, EuroPark Parkeringskontrol carries out the control on private parking areas and different rules apply than on e.g. public parking areas.
If you have lost the payment information, you can wait for the first payment reminder. No additional fees are added to this first reminder.
You can also make an inquiry on this website under inquiry. Please supply information on the date of the parking fee, the registration number of the vehicle, your name, and your address.
If you have received a parking fee which you believe is unjustified, you can send an inquiry on this website under inquiry. Please remember to provide the fee number and the registration number (license plate). The fee number can be found at the top of the parking fee.
We recommend that you double-check whether the fee number and registration number (license plate) is typed in correctly.
We impose a compensation amount of DKK 310 on commercial cases if the payment time limit is not met. The authority responsible for collecting this can be found in Section 9a, Subsection 3 of the Interest Act. The compensation will only be imposed if the vehicle is registered with a CBR number and payment has not been made in time. If the vehicle was being used privately when the parking fee was imposed, compensation will not be charged. However, in these situations we do require documentation (private declaration). The documentation must show that the vehicle was being used for private purposes on the day in question and provide the name and address of the driver, the manager’s signature and company stamp and/or company logo/letterhead.
If you want an instalment plan, in order to pay the amount in smaller parts over the duration of max three months, you can send an inquiry on this website under inquiry.
If you’ve received a letter from the Court, with an order to bring your car to the Bailiff’s Court, then you must attend the Court meeting with your car, car keys and registration papers.
If you wish to avoid handing over your vehicle to the Bailiff’s Court, you must immediately contact us at europarktvangsrealisering@euroincasso.dk
Parking permits
In this situation, you cannot park on the parking lot, as you do not follow the rule that the parking permit must be placed visibly and easily readable for control from the outside of the windshield.
The report from the parking attendant documents that the handicap card was not placed visibly and readably in the windshield. We maintain that the parking fee must be paid, as it is required to use a handicap card when parking in handicap stalls. The parking fee will not be annulled either even if you send documentation of having a handicap card. The handicap card should be visible and easily readable for control in the windshield of the vehicle when the parking attendant controls the vehicle. This entails that the whole front side of the handicap card should be visible and readable for control.
The following rules apply to ALL parking areas:
A handicap card is in principle not valid for private parking areas. When you park on a private area, the general rules for the parking area should be followed. These rules can be found on the signs on the parking area. This means:
- When parking with a valid handicap card, it is permitted to park in the market handicap stalls, i.e. a stall where it from the signage is clear that the stall is reserved for persons with handicaps and that parking is permitted with a handicap card.
- When parking in a handicap stall, all other rules of the parking lot applies unless it is clearly written that special rules apply for parking in the handicap stall. In such cases, these special rules must be followed.
- If you park in a normal stall and not a handicap stall, the general rules for the parking area must be followed, i.e. the rules which are listed on the signage on the parking lot, such as e.g. payment, setting a parking disc etc.
The parking rules for handicap cards can be found on Dansk Handicaporganisation’s website www.handicap.dk > Brugerservice > Parkeringskort > Parkeringsregler.
If you believe, you have a valid digital permit, you must enclose a photo of your digital permit when you make an inquiry about the parking fee. You can make your inquiry on this website under inquity.
Parking by hospitals
If you are seeking information about parking by Odense University Hospital and Svendborg Hospital, we recommend you to look at their webpage www.ouh.dk/parkering.
Inquiries regarding parking fees
If you want to make an inquiry regarding a parking fee, which you have received when parket at Odense Univesity Hospital or Svendborg Hospital, we kindly ask you to fill out and send it through our form under inquiry on this website. When you fill out the form, please be aware of the following:
- Check if the form is filled out correctly. The form should as a minimum include:
- Fee number
- The vehicle’s registration number
- Name and address
- Please note: Inquiries regarding annulment of a parking fee will in case of doubt be handled by Odense University Hospital
Other circumstances regarding parking
In such cases we ask you to send a copy of the receipt that you received for the police report which documents that the vehicle was reported stolen when the parking fee was written. We kindly ask that you send a copy of the receipt for the police report, your name, address, fee number, and the vehicle’s registration number. Hereafter, we will assess the case and send you a written answer. Please note, that it is not enough to write the record number of the police report, as we cannot collect the necessary information from the police.
In the event of an accident, you should immediately contact the control centre on tel. +45 45 26 76 92 and make us aware of this, so that we can inform the parking attendant.
If you have informed us as stated above, and are still charged a parking fee, you will need to send us a copy of your receipt from Falck or another authorised motoring organisation within the time limit for payment which proves that your vehicle received motoring assistance, was collected, etc.
This can be sent through our website under the tab inquiry or by post to EuroPark Parkeringskontrol, Hjulmagervej 4B, 7100 Vejle, Denmark. We will then assess the case and issue you with a written response.
Note: in car parks where parking requires payment, you must also buy a ticket/register the vehicle and thereby comply with the signposted rules for parking to avoid being charged a parking fee.
Note: it is not sufficient to place a note in the vehicle windscreen stating that the vehicle has been involved in an accident. Illuminated hazard warning lights do not mean that vehicles can be parked in contravention of the signposted rules and regulations.
In such cases we ask you to identify who drove the vehicle on the day and time when the parking fee was written. Please ask the person who drove the car to contact us stating that he/she drove the car on said occasion.
If the car is registered to a company, the parking fee will be upheld against the company, unless the company provides a written declaration stating that at the time and date on which the parking fee was imposed, the employee was using the vehicle for private purposes (private declaration). The private statement must be issued by the company, be signed and bear the company stamp. It must also provide the full name and address of the employee who was driving the car for private purposes when the parking fee was imposed.
Motorcycles must follow the same rules as cars, unless signage says otherwise.
If dedicated areas for motorcycles exist on the parking area, motorcycles must park in these. If there are no areas dedicated to motorcycles, the motorcycle should be parked in the marked stalls on the parking lot. If no marked stalls exist on the parking lot, the motorcycle must be parked in a way where it is of as little inconvenience to others as possible.
On parking lots where a parking disc is required, this rule also apply to motorcycles unless signage says otherwise. If it is not possible to comply with this, we recommend you to park elsewhere.
On parking lots where payment is required you must pay through a parking app if possible. If it is not possible to pay with an app, you must purchase a parking ticket valid for motorcycle parking in a payment machine. Keep the parking ticket, so you can show it if requested by a parking attendant and validate that you paid for parking.
It is under no circumstances permitted to park where signs show that parking is forbidden, in parking stalls reserved for others, where parking permits are required and you do not hold such, and on handicap spaces.
Additionally, you should always check the signs on the parking lot, as these might dictate different rules for parking motorcycles.
You must remember to de-register the number plate when you sell a car
At the start of 2019, a new statutory fee of DKK 250 a day was introduced for moped, car or other motorised vehicle owners who do not have compulsory liability insurance for the vehicle.
Why this important to know?
It is important to know this if you are selling your vehicle, as there is a risk that you will incur the daily charge if you are still the registered owner or user of the vehicle.
You can avoid this by ensuring that you de-register the number plate with the Danish Tax Administration as soon as the vehicle is sold.
A good piece of advice is to re-register the plates with the buyer on the Danish Tax Administration website before waving goodbye to the buyer.
